IGNOU System Analysis & Design Paper

CS-05: ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM ANALYSIS & DESIGN
Time: 3 hours Maximum Marks: 75

Note: There are six questions in this paper. Question No.1 is compulsory and carries 30 marks. From the remaining questions, you may attempt any three. Each of these questions carries 15 marks.

1. Write brief notes on any five of the following

(v) Benchmark Testing
(vi) Advantages of using Data Centres
(vii) Structured Charts
(viii) Prototype Installation

2. Develop a Questionnaire for gathering information about the important aspects of a system to be developed to help students find permanent and/or part-time jobs.

3. (a) List the factors that are to be considered while designing a User Interface, in the Software Development Process.

(b) List and explain various objectives of Input Design. Take an example and explain them.

4. (a) What do you think are three common mistakes that novice analysts make in developing documentation?

(b) What are various elements that are to be considered while drawing up a contract between Vendors and Buyers? Explain them.

5. (a) What do you understand by Disaster Recovery Planning? Explain in detail.

(b) What do you understand phases of the development of a Management Information System (MIS)? Explain them.

(c) What is a computer crime? Discuss software related crimes in detail.

6. (a) What are the components in Multimedia?

(b) Suppose that you are the analysis charged with development of a “Student Information System” for a university. Develop an Analysis Plan for the same.
